Zero, tired of digging holes at Camp Green Lake, hits his supervisor Mr. Pendanski with a shovel and runs away into the desert without supplies. He does not consider the consequences of his actions and is at risk of dying in the harsh conditions. Another boy, Stanley, finds Zero and convinces him to return to camp before it's too late. Zero learns an important life lesson about controlling his emotions and thinking before acting rashly.
