Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Zašto je podrijetlo bitno?
1. Podrijetlo
nemaju isprike. ”
(Rimljanima 1:20)
Zašto je podrijetlo bitno?
2. Pitanja koje sve filozofije/religije pitaju
1. Podrijetlo – odakle sam došao?
2. Etika – kako bih trebao živjeti?
3. Smisao – zašto sam ovdje?
4. Sudbina – gdje odlazim?
3. Drugi pogled...
1. Odakle je sve poteklo?
2. Što je krenulo po zlu?
3. Kako može biti popravljeno?
4. “Oduzmite prva tri ulomka Postanka i
nećete moći zadržati pravu kršćansku
poziciju, niti pružiti kršćanske
odgovore”
– Francis Schaeffer
The God Who is There
7. Četiri kljuČna pogleda na podrijetlo
1. Naturalistička Evolucija– Bog nije uključen u
stvaranje; stvari su isplivale čistim prirodnim
procesima.
2. Naturalističko Stvaranje– Nema teističkog
Kreatora izvan ovoga svijeta; samo kreativni
Um unutar svemira koji stvara.
Njegovom kontrolom velikim dijelom prirodnim
procesima
4. Teističko Stvaranje– Bog je direktno stvorio
svemir, živuće stvari i čovjeka. Koliko je stvari
prvotno stvoreno i koliko je vremena bilo
potrebno za stvaranje je pitanje diskusije
8. Tri potencijalna scenarija stvaranja
1. Ex Materia – iz
postojeće materije
2. Ex Deo – iz Boga
3. Ex Nihilo – iz ničega
9. Platon i podrijetlo
svome djelu Timeju, Demiurga (premda
postoje neki nagovještaji ovoga stvorenja
u prijašnjim djelima) postavlja kao onoga
koji oblikuje Dobro o kojem Platon piše u
svojoj Republici. Demiurg radi na način ex
materia. Također, on je uzrok koji
proizvodi, ne uzrok s namjerom (producing
vs. purposing).
10. Aristotel i podrijetlo
istim efikasnim/proizvodnim uzrokom
Kršćanstva koji je svemir doveo u
postojanje iz ničega, budući da je Aristotel
svemir smatrao vječnim.
11. Plotin i podrijetlo
cvijet. Njegovi pokušaji za objašnjenem
jedinstva i različitosti:
• Postoje mnoga bića
• Sva je mnogostrukost bazirana na prošlom
jedinstvu
Duh Sveti implementirao red i isporučio život.
13. The Biblijsko izvješĆe o podrijetlu
“U početku stvori Bog nebo i zemlju
-Postanka1:1
klanjaju
(Nehemija 9:6)
“Nebesa slavu Božju kazuju, naviješta svod nebeski djelo
ruku njegovih. Dan danu to objavljuje, a noć noći glas
predaje.
(Psalam 19:1-3)
Jedan vječni kreator
15. A Single, Eternal Creator
"
“Jahvinom su riječju nebesa sazdana i dahom usta njegovih sva
vojska njihova.”
(Psalam 33:6)
“Ja sam načinio zemlju i čovjeka na njoj stvorio; svojim sam rukama
razapeo nebesa i zapovijedam svim vojskama njihovim.”
(Izaija45:12)
“Ovako govori Jahve, otkupitelj tvoj i tvorac tvoj od utrobe: »Ja
sam Jahve koji sam sve stvorio, koji sam nebesa sam razapeo, i
učvrstio zemlju bez pomoći ičije.”
(Izaija 44:24)
16. Krist je instrumentalni uzrok svega
“U početku bijaše Riječ i Riječ bijaše u Boga i Riječ bijaše Bog.
17. Krist je instrumentalni uzrok svega
“Ta u njemu je sve stvoreno, na nebesima i na zemlji, vidljivo i
nevidljivo, bilo Prijestolja, bilo Gospodstva, bilo Vrhovništva, bilo
prorocima; konačno, u ove dane, progovori nama u Sinu. Njega
postavi baštinikom svega; Njega po kome sazda svjetove.”
(Hebrejima 1:1-2)

filozofska. Aristotelov geocentrizam je bio
prevladavajući pogled. Kada su Kopernik,
Kepler i Galileo predstavili heliocentrizam,
prvotno ga je podržao Isusovački Collegio
Romano, ali su mu se suprotstavljali sekularni
filozofi toga doba. Međutim, Katolička je
Crkva generalno prihvatila Aristotelovo
učenje i završila na opozicijskoj strani. Ali to
nije toliko osnovala na Pismu, koliko na
Aristotelu.
21. Good Advice from Galileo
“Ne osjećam se dužnim
vjerovati da nas je isti Bog
koji nas je obdario osjetilima,
razumom i intelektom, naumio
da ih se odreknemo.”
- Galileo
23. ZaŠto je ispravan pogled na podrijetlo bitan?
Utječe na...
1. Kako vidimo Boga
2. Kako vidimo sebe
3. Kako gledamo na
moralnost
24. Kako vidimo boga
“Povijest čovječanstva će vjerojatno
pokazati da se niti jedan čovjek
nikada nije uzdignuo iznad svoje
religije, a ljudska duhovna povijest
će izvjesno demonstrirati da ni jedna
religija nikada nije bila veće od
vlasite ideje Boga.”
-A. W. Tozer
Bogovi Grka su bili ograničeni i
manjkavi, nisu bili vrhovni. Bog
Biblije je njihova antiteza.
25. Kako vidimo sebe
-Carl Sagan
Ako su ljudi samo "zvjezdana prašina",
onda nemaju intrinzičnu moralnu
vrijednost; oni su jednostavno materija i
ništa više. Ali ljudska bića stvorena na
sliku Božju sadrže intrinzičnu moralnu
vrijednost budći da odražavaju sliku
Boga.
26. “Ti, tvoje radosti i tvoje tuge, tvoje
memorije i ambicije, tvoj osjećaj
osobnoga identiteta i slobodne
volje, zapravo nisu ništa više od
ponašanja ogromnog sastava
živčanih stanica i njima pridruženih
molekula..”
- Francis Crick suotkrivač DNA
27. "Mi smo samo djelić
zagađenja. Ako se riješite
nas... svemir bi uveliko
ostao isti. Mi smo u
potpunosti irelevantni.
- Lawrence Krauss, Fizičar
28. Kako gledamo na moralnost
“Zašto ljudi vjeruju u evoluciju? Razlog
zbog kojega smo prihvatili Darwinizam,
-Julian Huxley
“Gdje jesam(stojim) jednom će biti
najistaknutije mjesto... 'Sve je
dopušteno' i s tim bih završio.”
-Dostoevsky, Braća Karamazov
Bez Boga, moralnost postaje ili
totalitarna ili emotivna
29. “Prirodna selekcija može favorizirati
egoizam. hedonizam, kukavičluk
umjesto hrabrosti, varanja i
iskorištavanja.
– Theodosius Dobzhansky
30. Razgranatost odreĐenog pogleda
Ako je Naturalistička
Evolucija točna, onda:
1. Bog ne postoji
2. Nema života poslije smrti
3. Nema osnova za
dobro/loše
4. Život nema značenje
5. Slobodna volja ne postoji
- William Provine,
Evolucionist
31. Nekonzistentnosti u evolucijskom pogledu
Kako evolucionist objašnjava gubitak
značenja? U znanosti, drugi zakon
32. Razgranatost odreĐenog pogleda
Naturalistički/Evolucijski pogled Teističko/Biblijsko Stvaranje
Vječan svemir Vječan Kreator
Ultimativna realnost je ne-osobna
materija - nije Bog
Ultimativna realnost je vječni, osobni
Bog koji je ljubav
Sve što znamo se dogodilo slučajno, bez
ultimativne svrhe
Svemir je s ljubavlju stvorio Bog sa
specifičnom svrhom
Čovjek je proizvod ne-osobne materije
plus vremena plus slučajnosti. Dosljedan
rezultat je da čovjek nema dostojanstvo
ili bilo koje značenje, osim subjektivno
izvedena
Čovjeka je stvorio Bog na sliku Svoju i
voli ga; stoga, svi su ljudi obdareni
vječnom vrijednošću i dostojanstvom
Moralnost definira svaki individualac
prema svojim interesima i pogledima.
Ultimativno je relativna jer je svaka
osoba autoritet nad svojim pogledima
Moralnost definira Bog, te je
nepromjenjiva zato što je utemeljena na
Božjem nepromjenjivom i svetom
karakteru
Život poslije smrti donosi osobno
uništenje i istrebljenje za svakoga
Život poslije smrti uključuje ili život s
Bogom ili odvojenost od Njega
33. ZakljuČak besciljnog svemira
Ako je slučajnost Otac svoga mesa,
katastrofa je njegova duga na nebu,
i kada čuješ
Izvanredno Stanje!
Snajper ubija desetoricu!
Eskadron bjesni!
Bijelci idu u Pljačku!
Bombe Raznose škole!
Ništa drugo nego zvuk čovjeka koji štuje
svoga
stvoritelja.
- Steve Turner, kraj “Vjera”
34. SAD i stvaranje
Ovo nije rečeno niti u jednoj drugoj naciji.
- Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf
36. Budućnost evolucionizma?
Na 109. sastanku Teksaške Akademije
Znanosti na Sveučilištu Lamar u
Beaumontu, 3-5 ožujka 2006., dr. Eric
Pianka je održao predavanje o tome kako je
zabrinut što prenaseljavanje uništava zemlju.
Par minuta prije predavanja, osoba
zadužena za snimanje je zamoljena da ne
snima Pianku jer "generalna publika nije
mjera. Onda, i bez prezentiranja bilo kakvih
37. The Future of Evolutionism?
godinama. Međutim, profesor Pianka nije
spomenuo da žrtve Ebole umiru sporom i
mučnom smrću kako se virus inicira kaskadu
bioloških propasti unutar žrtve kojoj se s
vremenom unutarnji organi pretvaraju u
tekućinu.
Nakon veličanja virusaEbole za njegovu
efikasnost kod ubijanja, Pianka je zastao,
nagnuo se preko pulta, pogledao u publiku i
oprezno rekao: "Moramo zračno bombadirati 90
posto mortaliteta kod ljudi. Ubijanje ljudi.
Pomislite na to."
A koji je bio odgovor publike...?
38. Ovacija
