Zanzibar is an archipelago off the coast of Tanzania in East Africa consisting of numerous small islands and two main islands, Unguja and Pemba. The islands have a long history of Arab and European influence and trade and were once the center of the spice trade. Today, Zanzibar has a diverse culture and economy based around spices, fishing, and tourism to its beautiful beaches and historic sites.
