Based on the growing needs of millennial students today from a library, we coined down few
definitions which we then translated into design:
“Technologically versed repository of multi-format content, responding to the current needs
entwined with the existing library fabric, facilitating flexible functions and catalyzing interactions
between the students, faculty and visitors.”
Preserving the traditional functional requirements, the additional functions are seamlessly woven
into the pre-existing strong library narrative using colors as a common thread. Color, which can
increase the attention span of the users, been introduced to functions like acoustics.

Exposed to torrid weather conditions,
this building is carefully designed to
mitigate heat and create a comfortable
environment within the built space. To
do so, a skin wall is introduced around
the built space. Punctures within this
skin wall allows for accessibility. Slits in
the wall and roof create a sense of
lightness and maintain ambient setting
within the building.

Rotary Orchards Chaitanya Senior
Citizens’ Home, a charitable project was
designed to provide a secure place with
freedom while taking care of the
psychological and physical security,
health and social life.
Loneliness being a major concern at an
advanced age, attention was given to
create spaces for social, interactive
engagements by designing courtyards,
open to sky activity and cultural spaces
along with functions like a library, prayer
hall, yoga, meditation which boost their
daily experience. The overall design is
barrier free with wide walkways and
ramps for accessibility around the
building, creating a vibrant atmosphere &
providing ‘Vitamin D’ for the elders.
The 3 floors, 27,500 Sq. ft home
accommodates 100 Senior Citizens for
both independent and assisted living.

SUVIDHA, promoted by a group of
doctors on a 30 acre land to enjoy the
benefits of community living post
retirement, amidst nature, a little
outside the hustle bustle of the city of
Bangalore, amid dense green
coverage.
This projects challenge was to design
the homes along the rocky steep 24mts
contour of the side and enhance the
living quality of the residents. To
achieve the goal set forth to build
around the existing green and
contoured environment, the designers
took the step towards environment
friendly construction.
