- The document summarizes Brian Elbel's research on the influence of calorie labeling on fast food purchases in New York City and Newark.
- A field study found that calorie labeling in NYC did not significantly change the number of calories purchased by adults or children. About a quarter of adults noticed the labels but there was no difference in calories purchased.
- Knowledge of recommended daily calorie amounts was low both before and after labeling. The study suggests that calorie labeling may have limited influence if consumers are unaware of recommended calorie guidelines.

The document summarizes recent developments in the Malaysian property market. It notes that a recent interest rate hike by Bank Negara may impact sentiment more than fundamentals. Analysis shows mortgage payments could rise 4-7% if rates increase 50 basis points in 2011. While demand is supported by demographics, affordability may become a greater focus. The document recommends being selective among property stocks as larger names approach peak valuations and prefers mid-cap and landbank plays.
Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons are not considered true Christians based on their beliefs about Jesus and God. Jehovah's Witnesses believe Jesus was created and not God himself, contradicting the Bible which says Jesus is God manifested in the flesh. Mormons believe humans can become gods like Jesus, but the Bible says there is only one God and nothing created can become God. Key verses used by JWs to argue Jesus is not God are taken out of context and contradicted by other verses, showing Jesus as the creator and sustainer of all things, proving his divinity.

Your Questions About Is It Easy To Make Money In The Stock Marketstevewinston68
You put money in a bank for safekeeping and to make using your money easier through checking accounts. However, banks are now allowed to take customer funds and invest them in the stock market, which some see as "gambling". While it is possible to double an investment in a month by investing in the right stock, accurately predicting stock price movements is very difficult. Day trading options can also provide large profits but involves significant risk, as options values can change rapidly. Making a living through short-term trading requires skills that usually take years of experience to develop proficiently.

1. Your Questions About Bonds Definition
Daniel asks…
What is the simple definition of osmosis, covalent bonds,
diffusion, and a ribosome?
Thanks for the help
Steve Winston answers:
Osmosis= diffussion of water
covalent bond=share electron(s)
Diffuion=mix throughout
Ribosome=site of protien systhesis

2. John asks…
What is the definition of an ionic compound?
I am so confused. Everywhere I look I only get the definition of ionic bonds but in this lab my
teacher wants us to give the definition of ionic compounds AND ionic bonds.
BTW I already have the definition of ionic bonds. I only need the ionic compound definition.
Steve Winston answers:
An ionic compound is a compound held together by Ionic bonds

3. What is the definition of bond Polarity?
I guess the dictionary definition, or the easiest way to explain in please. thanks!
Steve Winston answers:
Let us assume a molecule, say HCl ( Hydrochloric acid )
H-Cl is a covalent compound in which electrons are shared between H and Cl. In a perfect
covalent bond, the shared pair of electrons are placed midway between H and Cl.
But chlorine has more electronegative (EN) than hydrogen, i.e., it has a tendency of attracting
electrons more hydrogen.
So the shared pair of electrons move closer to Cl away from H. This is called polarity
definition: The property of shared pair of electrons being closer to one atom than the other in a
covalent bond is called bond polarity

4. Legal Definition of Bonds for children?
Can someone tell me the difference between these?
This is a divorce situation in which the dad states that bonds were purchased/earned in order to
PAY FOR COLLEGE, and a mom saying that they were given to the child through surveys a
father participated in in thoughts of the child having the bonds as INVESTMENTS.
The lawyer is now asking... are they college bonds?
Were they listed as the child only or was a parents name listed on the bond too?
Can someone help me to understand this?
Thank you!
The bonds in question are EE bonds and EE Patriot Bonds.
The lawyer asks: are they college savings bonds?
They don't SAY they are. Are they? What is the difference?
Steve Winston answers:
Very good you myust see that there was a time when there was suspect of misdoings being
done and that time peopel started to balme surtain people for doing these bad things and if you
reseasch the issues you will see that bonds was the escape goat for the stairroids and so his
publisist statded that he should do good to focus away from the bad now you must see that

5. Susan asks…
What is the definition of "chemical bonding"?
I have a test on Wednesday and I need to know the defintion of chemical bonding. I've tried the
internet and I couldn't find a simple definition. Thanks! ?
Steve Winston answers:
A chemical bond is the physical phenomena responsible for the attractive interactions between
atoms that confers stability to di- and polyatomic chemical compounds. The explanation of the
attractive forces is a complex area that is described by the laws of quantum electrodynamics,
but usually chemists rely on quantum theory or qualitative descriptions that are less rigorous but
more easily explained. In general, strong chemical bonding is associated with the sharing or
transfer of electrons between the participating atoms. Molecules, crystals, and diatomic gases -
indeed most of the physical environment around us - are held together by chemical bonds,
which dictate the structure of matter.

6. Sharon asks…
Short Definition of Chemical bonds? ( Covalent/metal/ionic)?
one or 2 sentence to define it.
i get too confused with different website different definitions. and i dont know what to remember
for my test,
Steve Winston answers:
Here would be some keywords:
covalent = sharing of electrons
ionic = transfer of electrons
metallic = sea of electrons/ delocalized electrons
Here are some short but good definitions:
covalent = a bond involving the sharing of electrons between two atoms, such that each atom in
the molecule has a full valence shell.

7. Ionic = a bond commonly existing between cations and anions, where the cation transfers
electron(s) to the anion to create the bond
metallic = a bond seen in metals where electrons are delocalized, forming a "sea of electrons"
that contribute to the high conductivity of metal
