Samuel is initially impressed by Eliab, Jesse's oldest son, but God says not to judge by outward appearance and that he has not chosen Eliab. One by one, each of Jesse's seven sons who had come with him are rejected by God. Samuel asks if these are all the sons, and Jesse says the youngest is out in the fields tending sheep. David, the youngest son, is brought before Samuel and God says he is the one to be anointed. The Spirit of God comes upon David from that day forward.

This document presents a graphical password authentication system called Persuasive Cued Click Points (PCCP) that uses images and sound signatures. PCCP aims to improve usability and security over traditional text passwords. A user selects a sequence of click points, one on each of 5 images. Each click point is associated with a sound signature to help the user recall it. The system creates a profile vector from the click points. At login, the user's click points are compared to the profile vector. If they match within a tolerance level, the user is authenticated. The document discusses related work, the proposed system's algorithms and design, and concludes PCCP increases the effective password space while allowing user choice. Users found P

The document outlines a pitch for a film opening for a psychological thriller. It proposes introducing the main characters of David and Sophie through David stalking and making a "mural" of Sophie after their breakup. It discusses using dark colors, shadows, and harsh lighting to hint at David being the antagonist without revealing his identity. The opening would incorporate themes of identity, reality, and death common in the genre through the mystery of the antagonist's identity and David searching for someone, while not revealing clues until later to intrigue the audience.

John 9:1-12
The disciples question why a man was born blind, revealing their judgmental spirit rather than compassion. Jesus heals the man's blindness to display God's works, telling the man to wash in Siloam. Though initially uncertain, neighbors recognize the formerly blind beggar. The man simply states he was blind but now sees, without understanding Jesus' true identity.
The document summarizes passages from the book of John describing Jesus healing a man born blind. It discusses Jesus reframing the disciples' view that suffering is due to sin, instead seeing it as an opportunity for God's works to be displayed. Jesus heals the blind man by making mud and anointing his eyes, instructing him to wash in Siloam. As the man progresses from physical sight to spiritual understanding of who Jesus is, it shows God can redeem suffering for good purposes and provide opportunity to testify about him.
This document discusses walking in the light spiritually. It begins with an anecdote about walking in darkness during army training to represent spiritual darkness as evil and the carnal world. It then examines passages from Ephesians and Genesis about light and darkness, with light representing salvation and expelling darkness. Light comes only from God, who is the source and sustainer of light. The document provides three guidelines from Ephesians for believers to shine brightly: do not partake with those in darkness, walk as children of light openly before God, and have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness. The take home message is that dabbling in sin will quickly rule one's life, and walking in light allows evaluation and repentance
“Living Upright In An Upside Down World" - The world was turned upside down when Adam & Eve committed the first sin. By Genesis chapter 6, the world had become so wicked that God destroyed it with a flood. Only eight people were saved from the destruction. The upright have always been in the minority and with the world around us so ungodly, living an upright life can be a real challenge. - MP3 / KEYNOTE / PPT / PDF - (11/10/2013) http://w65stchurchofchrist.org/coc/

This document discusses using adversity to fulfill one's destiny. It summarizes Joseph's story as an example of overcoming adversity. Joseph faced betrayal by his brothers, slavery, and imprisonment, yet through remaining faithful eventually rose to the second highest position in Egypt. The document outlines 6 stages to discover one's larger story and purpose: recruitment, character building, isolation, the cross, problem solving, and networking. It encourages embracing God's promise that all things work for good, no matter one's circumstances.
The document discusses the meaning of life according to the book of Ecclesiastes. It makes four main points: 1) Life is meaningless without God, as works, joy, and everything are ultimately meaningless. 2) Life is unfair without God, as both righteousness and wealth are distributed unequally. 3) Life is unfulfilling without God, as people cannot know what is best or what the future holds. 4) Only life with God makes sense, as remembering Him provides the ultimate meaning. The conclusion emphasizes that Christ gives life true meaning, satisfaction, and wisdom.
The document discusses how God became human in the form of Jesus Christ. It references Bible verses that describe Jesus coming into the world as the light and creator, but being rejected by the people. It then discusses how the Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among humanity, and that Christians believe the central miracle is the incarnation of God becoming man. The purpose of Jesus coming is then outlined as: to lead people to glory, to become one with humanity, to free people from sin, and to give an abundant life. The conclusion reiterates that Jesus came to seek people and they must respond to who he is.
This document discusses the concept of light and darkness in relation to God and fellowship. It makes the following key points:
1. God is described as light - He is good, pure, and contains no darkness or evil.
2. Darkness symbolizes life without God, chaos, immorality, and failure. It is the opposite of God.
3. For sinful humans to have fellowship with the holy God, they must walk in the light through their life. The blood of Jesus allows them to be cleansed from sin and darkness and brought into God's light.
This document discusses the purpose, power, privilege, and promise of light based on several Bible passages. It argues that light is meant to shine for others and overcome darkness, not be hidden. Those who walk in the light have fellowship with God and are cleansed of sin. In contrast, those who love darkness avoid exposure of their deeds. The document encourages readers to let their light shine and not hide from spiritual light, promising that sharing light with others increases it while hoarding it allows it to die out.

John 9, Children And The Sins Of The Parents, Miracle 6, Man Born Blind Heale...Valley Bible Fellowship
John 9 is about Jesus healing a man born blind. When Jesus' disciples ask if the man's blindness was due to his own or his parents' sins, Jesus says neither caused it, but it was so God's works could be displayed. Jesus heals the man by making mud and having him wash in the Pool of Siloam. Though the man receives physical sight, he requires further revelation from Jesus to believe. The Jewish leaders question the healing, which causes division.

John 1 (The Message)
The Life-Light
1 1-2 The Word was first,
the Word present to God,
God present to the Word.
The Word was God,
in readiness for God from day one.
3-5 Everything was created through him;
nothing—not one thing!—
came into being without him.
What came into existence was Life,
and the Life was Light to live by.
The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness;
the darkness couldn’t put it out.

4. 6-8 Thereonce was a man, his name John, sent
by God to point out the way to the Life-Light.
He came to show everyone where to look, who
to believe in. John was not himself the Light;
he was there to show the way to the Light
9-13 TheLife-Light was the real thing:
Every person entering Life
he brings into Light.
He was in the world,
the world was there through him,
and yet the world didn’t even notice.
He came to his own people,
but they didn’t want him.
But whoever did want him,
who believed he was who he claimed
and would do what he said,

5. He made to be their true selves,
their child-of-God selves.
These are the God-begotten,
not blood-begotten,
not flesh-begotten,
not sex-begotten.
14 The Word became flesh and blood,
and moved into the neighborhood.
We saw the glory with our own eyes,
the one-of-a-kind glory,
like Father, like Son,
Generous inside and out,
true from start to finish.
15 John pointed him out and called, “This is the
One! The One I told you was coming after me
but in fact was ahead of me. He has always
been ahead of me, has always had the first
word.”
16-18 We all live off his generous bounty,
gift after gift after gift.
