An executive producer on multiple indie films, Carter Boehm founded the Yellowstone Film Ranch. By hosting the facility, Carter Boehm helps grow the state’s film industry, by maintaining a lot for local film and television producers. Yellowstone Film Ranch utilizes a combination of five sets, like a main street, church, or general store, and building facades of 28 structures, to recreate a western town from the late 1800s. The staff coordinates with a project’s crew to choose the proper sets, cater and lodge cast and crew, and more. The lot is open to productions of all sizes, including commercials, indie films, and studio films. Local businesses provide additional assistance in acquiring props. In addition to compensating a production’s actors and crew, Yellowstone Film Ranch takes advantage of Montana’s newly media law. This law offers tax credits on Montanian film productions. When compensating cast and crew, Yellowstone Film Ranch allows a greater share of any profits made to intrastate personnel, and ensures that roles like Montanian screenwriters receive screen credits in productions they helped create.
