Blanche Scott was a pioneering female aviator in the early 1900s. She was the first woman to drive a car across the US, fly a plane in America, and set several long-distance flying records for women. She also had the first leading role in a movie about flying. Blanche continued to break barriers by becoming the first woman test pilot in America and the first woman to ride in a jet plane. She helped advance women's rights and opportunities in aviation decades before the women's rights movement.
