We need regular Heart Checkups. We need to ask the hard questions and consider seriously the answers. When Jesus says, "Where you treasure is there your heart will be also." he give us insight into the fickle nature of our hearts desire.
This is a short overview of how to grow mature in the Lord. It is a life-long process but we all can do it. God wants us to grow up to be like Jesus in words, thoughts, deeds and character. The rewards of spiritual maturity are great here on earth and probably greater in heaven!
After we are born again as new babes in Jesus, we have to grow into spiritual maturity. The benefits are great! It's time to grow more to be ready for the darkening world we are living in.

Almighty God, most merciful Father
You alone know the time
You alone know the hour
You alone know the moment
When I shall breathe my last.
So remind me each day, most loving Father
To be the best that I can be
To be humble, to be kind,
To be patient, to be true,
To embrace what is good
To reject what is evil
To adore only You.
When that final moment does come
Let not my loved ones grieve for long
Let them comfort each other
And let them know how much happiness
They brought into my life.
Let them pray for me
As I will continue to pray for them,
Hoping that they will always pray for each other.
Let them know that they made possible
Whatever good I offered to our world
And let them realize that our separation
Is just for a short while
As we prepare for our reunion in eternity.
Our Father in heaven
You alone are my hope
You alone are my salvation
Thank You for Your unconditional love. Amen.

Yesterday is gone, you can never get it back. Tomorrow is not promised so don't rely on it. Today is your day! Today is your day because it is all you have, all you can manage and all you need. You can't change yesterday and you surely can't control tomorrow - today is your day!

The Parable of the Sower and the Seed (Luke 8) is about radical transformation from dirt to new life that happens from God's Word and the dangers that come for those seeking spiritual growth!
We've got to allow God to strip down all the years of grime and cheap paint piled on top of each other. He needs to get down to the bare original so He can begin to fill the cracks, sand the rough edges, and make our hearts beautiful again. He’s already looked beneath the layers and has determined that we're all worth doing over.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

3. This is God’s Word for my life in this
place and at this time. Today I am a
new creation in Christ, I am God’s
very own and I believe he has a
purpose for my life.
4. As Jesus started on his way, a
man ran up to him and fell on
his knees before him.
“Good teacher,” he asked, “what
must I do to inherit eternal life?”
5. “Why do you call me good?” Jesus
answered. “No one is good—except God
alone. You know the commandments: ‘Do
not murder, do not commit adultery, do not
steal, do not give false testimony, do not
defraud, honor your father and mother.’”
6. “Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept
since I was a boy.”
Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One
thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything
you have and give to the poor, and you will
have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow
me.”
7. At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad,
because he had great wealth.
Jesus looked around and said to his
disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter
the kingdom of God!”
Mark 10:17-23

there your heart will be also.
