Hi Everyone!
Welcome to Issue No.7 of our catalogue – ‘Essentials’. This is a
very special edition for us, as it marks our 5th birthday. It truly
seems like only yesterday when, with only 16 products to our
name, we would wait with baited breath in our tiny downstairs
office to see if someone, anyone, had placed an order for the day!
Thankfully, there were enough of you who were prepared to give us a go and we’ve
grown quickly as a result, to the point where we now have a range of certified
organic skincare, essential oils, and makeup products the equal of anyone.
Thank you so much for the trust you have put in us. As we continue to grow and
evolve as a company, we will do everything we can to keep that trust and provide
you with the very best in organic personal care.
One of the things that is most important to us is to be more than simply a company
that sells beauty products. We believe that beauty is an expression not only of how
we look, but who we are. With this in mind, we want to share information about
health, beauty and wellbeing that can add some small value to your lives.

You will notice on our packaging that our products are
made with supercritical extracts. Supercritical extraction
technology is a cutting edge process which promises to
revolutionise the field of organic personal care.
It delivers an extract that is all-natural, wonderfully pure, and super potent
(in fact, extracts used in our ranges can be more than 50 times stronger than
conventional extracts!).
At World Organics, we are proud to be leaders in the use of this technology,

Trade for Aid
We are very proud of our links with India and especially
our partnership with a number of organic, Indian
community farms.
In a country where farming remains a way of life for a majority of the
population, these farms are leading the way in overcoming the dependence
Indian agriculture has had on the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides. As a
result of this dependence, soil quality and yields have decreased dramatically in
many areas of the country, whilst costs have soared and poverty has increased.
To help counteract this, we support and participate in the organic movement
in India and actively work with community farms and organic herbal suppliers,
assisting with the certiﬁcation costs necessary for farms to be recognised as
organic producers and paying an average of 15% above market price for their
produce, giving the farmers security of revenue.
The net result of this partnership has been the establishment of strong business
relationships, enduring friendships, and the opportunity to include in our
products organic ingredients of the highest quality.

Every Breath
We Take
Breathing. It’s one of the few things that all of us who are
interested in the business of living must do. And we do it a lot.
16 breaths per minute, on average. That equates to 960 an
hour, 23,040 a day, 8,409,600 a year and 672,768,000 breaths
over the course of an average lifetime.
You’d think, with all that practice, that we’d be good at it. But we’re not. When
it comes to breathing, most of us are hopeless and it’s making us sick.
The problem is our modern lifestyle. We are often stressed and as we sit at our
desks or behind the wheel of our car, we tend to take short, sharp, unconscious
sips of breath. Whilst this is enough to keep us going, it doesn’t deliver a
sufficient amount of oxygen, leaving us vulnerable to a variety of chronic
conditions, including fatigue, chest and back pain, sleep disorders, stomach
upsets and even heart disease.
Ideally, breathing should be – at least occasionally - a conscious action. Instead
of breathing from our chest, we need to learn to breathe more deeply, utilising
our diaphragm and pulling more air into our lungs.
There are many different breathing techniques which will help us to do this,
but if you want to experiment with a simple, healthy breathing routine to
begin with, then try out the steps below:
– Sit or lie comfortably, spine straight and your hands resting easily.
– Make a conscious effort to breathe through your nose, your mouth closed.
This will allow the tiny hairs and the mucus membranes in your nose to do
their job and filter out dust and toxins.
– Inhale deeply, making sure that the abdomen rises along with the chest, as
though your stomach is a balloon filling with air.
– Retain the breath, even if for a second only, as this provides profound
therapeutic benefits to every organ, gland and functional system in the body.
In actual breathing exercises, breath retention for 3-4 seconds slows down
heartbeat, reduces blood pressure, and triggers cellular respiration.
– After inhaling for 3 to 4 seconds, exhale slowly for 7 to 8 seconds, ensuring
you release as much air as possible. Repeat for approximately five minutes,
remaining completely relaxed and engaged in the simple process of
breathing properly.
And that’s it! Practice conscious breathing and after a while it will not only seem
natural, but will deliver a sharp increase in your sense of vitality and wellbeing.

Aging
Beautifully
Keep calm and be crazy, laugh, love, and live it up, because

We live, we age.
Too often, this inescapable fact of life is viewed as a negative, especially
when we are surrounded by a media that focuses on an image of beauty that
is impossibly young and perfect. But really, aging is an opportunity. With
the right approach – and a little bit of luck – we can all age beautifully and
embrace the new experiences and changes that the passing years bring.
Listed below are a few simple things we can all do to help keep us beautiful,
no matter what our age:
LOOK AFTER YOUR STATE OF MIND
How we look at the world and ourselves has a tremendous impact on how we
age. To keep our mind and emotions fresh and beautiful, we should:
– Avoid negativity
– Learn to cope with stress (meditation and breathing exercises can help)
– Be resilient and believe in our ability to accomplish what we set out to do
– Accept change (avoid rigid thinking)
– Learn to focus on the positives

It almost goes without saying that our health is important, an essential

A guide to skin types and the best products to keep your
skin healthy.
Your skin type refers to whether you have Oily, Dry, Normal, or Combination
Skin. Many of us have normal skin or combination skin which can display
different characteristics because of heat, dehydration or other environmental
conditions such as air conditioning. If you have combination skin, you are
likely either more oily or dry and we call these types Combination-Oily and
Combination-Dry.
Your skin type determines your needs and what skincare products will best
suit you. At times there are also conditions that arise, such as blemishes/acne,
new signs of aging and pigmentation and these too will influence your product
choice. We recommend a consultation with a World Organics consultant who
can help you decide what your own skin needs are and help you select the
perfect World Organics products to cater to your needs.
Although there is no standard ‘test’ which will allow you to exactly define your
skin type (the skin is too complex an organ for this to be entirely possible)
some fairly accurate assumptions can be made by examining the area of your
face known as the ‘T-zone’. The T-zone is that part of your face consisting of the
forehead, nose and the area around the mouth, and includes the chin. It gets its
name because it is a similar shape to the letter ‘T’. When examining the T-zone,
one of the first things to look for is pore size. Pore sizes tend to be larger in the
T-zone (unless you have very dry skin). If you have large pores in the T-zone
but nowhere else, you are likely to have a normal, or perhaps combination,
skin type. Following this more naturally oily skin types will have larger pores
in all areas.

that it is ‘natural’ or ‘organic’ doesn’t mean it is. Too often,
manufacturers make this claim (we call it ‘greenwashing’) even
when the percentage of natural and organic ingredients in their
