Students interested in law have opportunities to study legal history and gain practical legal skills. A workshop provided guidance on cracking competitive exams for legal careers and focused on understanding over memorization. Guest speakers discussed the importance of statutes and case laws, and shared expertise in cross-examination. Studying law offers entry into various law firms and positions beyond legal work in fields like business and administration.

1. Workshop on Industry-Academia- Role of Legal Professionals
Summary
Students who plan to study in the area of law as well as those who
interested in the legal history will have much to gain knowledge from
courses in Law and History. The Law programme offers students to
study Lawyers, legal institution and it’s interaction with law. Students
also are encouraged to attend the law and history workshop where
they can get a chance to examine law and its relationship.
Law colleges/ universities offer a number of professional skill in which
students can learn valuable skills that lawyers need from the first day of
practiceincluding writing, editing, oral and many more.

2. Events at Brainware University-School of Law on
18th January, 2020
The students gained knowledge on how to crack competitive exams for
the judiciary/ legal services/ bank services/corporate law firms and also
learned how to start legal career as Advocates at District courts and
High courts.
Moreover, the guests guided students to focus on understanding, not
on memorizing. Allocate your time and efforts in a way that will help
you to get success not only in your class but also in your future career.
It will focus on preparing you for a specific career path.
The school of Law, Brainware University, organized a workshop from
the professional field in Law on 18th janauary, 2020 in the semionar
room.

4. The session started off with an introductory session by Dr. Kaushik
Banerjee (Head of the Department) followed by the felicitation
ceremony of the guests by the students. The first lecture was delivered
by Dr. Shashinath Mondal, Associate Professor, Hoogly Mohsin College,
University of Burdwanwho spoke to the students on the importance of
studying statutes and case laws. He guided the students on how to
bring about an over-all growth in their progress. He focused on the skill
of language and writing.
The next guest for the day, Dr. Durgapada Das, Ex. Chief Police
Prosecutor, Calcutta, spoke to the students on the skill of cross-
examination in criminal law. The student’s received a first-hand
knowledge of a court-room scene. It was a highly interactive session.
