The Jubail Desalination Plant in Saudi Arabia uses multi-stage flash distillation and co-generation to produce fresh water and electricity. Phase 1 of the plant has a production capacity of 910,000 cubic meters of fresh water per day and 360 megawatts of electricity. It is the largest desalination plant in the world and takes in seawater through an intake channel and outflows brine through a reject brine sea outlet.
