Their master stick-maker Tom Becket, who has crafted sticks from hickory wood for 50 years, says the last stick he makes may be the world's last wooden lacrosse stick. The public is invited to a Headstone Dedication Ceremony at the Western State Hospital Historic Patient Cemetery in Lakewood, Washington on April 29, 2017 at 2:00 pm. The ceremony will dedicate headstones for Sergeant Oliver W. Bean and Private Thomas Blanchard of the Union Army, whose graves were previously unmarked, as well as rededicate the headstone of Sergeant Charles Wesley Cooley. The ceremony, organized by Gov. Isaac Stevens Camp No. 1 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, will honor the service of these three Union Civil War soldiers and include military funeral honors.
