2. Brief Storyline
Our opening scene consists of a man named
Martin who starts his day as usual however he
arrives at work to find all of his colleagues not
at work. Intrigued and anxious he explores the
building and he finds the letter ‘M’ written in
various places in the building. Martin believes
it is a practical joke his colleagues are playing
on him he returns to his work desk. Then he
hears banging and sees flickering lights.
Martin tries to see what the problem is and is
confronted by the silhouette of a man… Martin
realises this is no joke.
3. Character Profile (Martin)
Devon Sawa would be our dream Martin due to his ability to produce a
frightened character while coming across as intrigued. This is shown in
previous films such as Final Destination. He is perfect as Martin as he is
a good victim. Martin is a middle-classed English man who works in a
business company. He is sceptical at first which dissolves in to curiosity
before he finally becomes scared which results in a fatality.
4. Character Profile (Serial Killer)
Kevin spacey would be the ideal actor to portray
the serial killer, he has proven this in previous
films such as se7en in which he delivered a gobsmacking performance. The serial killer is under
influence from unknown forces however he has a
definite motive for taking retribution against the
main character. His methods are sly and will
induce psychological terror.
5. Genre/Age Rating
Our Genre is a psychological
Horror/Thriller with an element of
mystery. As you know our film company
is very prestigious and is famous for our
amazing quality in horror films.
The age rating is 15 because there is a
lot of profanity and elements that would
not be suitable for younger viewers such
as violence and scenes of menace.
6. Setting one (The Canal)
The canal is not our main location however this is
the first and last location as it is Martin’s route to
work and is also where he will be chased as he
tries to escape the antagonist.
7. Setting 2 (The workplace)
This is where the man-hunt begins. It is based in an
office where Martin works, eventually a chase around
the building and out on to the canal will emerge. This
building is where the main part of the film will be shot
as it perfectly fits the description of the setting we first
visualised it’s entwined stair cases and layout will be
perfect for a psychological search and chase.
