WILD WIKI
Project Problem statement: To design a device for wild life enthusiasts providing easy access to every kind
of wild life database and facility to update it. It should also give the provision of developing a social
network and other related facilities.
Stand Alone device
(attachable to other supporting devices –
binoculars, camera, phones, laptops, telescope)
Its very flexible and easy to get desired
views and pictures for the search.
But it adds up to one more utility that you have
to carry while exploring wild.
Application
An application can be installed on any phone device
which has a facility of camera.
Or it can also be installed on camera if it supports
the software.
It cannot be used with every other device like
Binoculars.
OR
Pre-installed
Dedicated Wild-Wiki Device
Application setup
Hobbies- Play station games, golf, thrill joy rides.
Plays traditional Indian Flute.
Parents- some industrialist.
Profession- Contributor to National Geography,
Freelance Photographer, Invests in share-market.
Doesn’t like the concept of pets
Vegetarian
Member of organizations- Ban Zoos, Go vegetarian,
Anti-forest encroachment.
Rides a bicycle to everywhere
Uses eco-friendly products.
Blogs everyday.
USER
STUDY
Study was basically focused on understand the process
of searching information from the wild life database.
There are two ways
1) To match the details and find the bird/ animal
2) To find the bird family and then match the details to
get the perfect match.
Following are the details they look for
-size, beak, region, calls, posture, tail, colors, activity,
plumage, season and time of day.
It also help me gain following information-
1) Types of information displayed about the species
2) Needs for easy search, and a handy option for the
information database.
3) Attachable to other devices
4) Personal database and tracking of activities needed.

The search for a particular specie starts after we have
certain information/observations to start with.
These observation can be in three forms.
1) Picture
The picture is used for reference since the picture
search/matching is not available.
2) Recorded Sounds
along with the possible description
of the calling of bird is used to
for search.
3) Other data collected from observations
-Plumage, Size, Season, Time of day, beak, region,
posture, tail, etc.
4) Search by video is difficult but the possibilities can
be explored
