What can you see from the Windows in your bedroom? What can you see from the Windows in your bedroom? What can you see from the Windows in your bedroom? What can you see from the Windows in your bedroom?
From my window I see my street with all the old houses, because in my street there are
only old people, and the houses aren't so modern. I live with my grandparents, so my
house is a bit older too. I can see the blue sky with the smoke of the factories and I can
see the next street which is more modern than mine. I can also see the primary school and
the bus station so, I always see people in my street and because there is a sweet shop all
the little children go there to buy their sweets. There is a park too, and I see the mothers
and the children at five o'clock when they finish school in the afternoon. Ana CanoAna CanoAna CanoAna Cano

From my window I can see my balcony and the school. In the morning the light enters and
lights up my bedroom. I can see my neighbour but he can’t see me. I can’t see the sea or
the mountains because my windows are oriented to the north-east.
When I was younger my father put a park in front of my windows and I could see it. JacobJacobJacobJacob

Friendhof - Cementiri
''Cementiri'' is the Catalan word for cemetery. If someone dies he or she is usually buried
in a coffin. The cemetery is divided in two parts: one part is where coffins are buried under
the ground and in the other part is where the coffins are put into a type of building. This
building is classified in different families. This building also has a place to put the name
and a photo of the person buried in it. Normally the family of the dead puts flowers in front
of the coffin.

Firedoff or “Cementiris” here are big
and old. The most common is that
they are grouped by columns; we
engrave the name of the person who
died on the tombstone. We always
visit the cemetery on the 1st
of
November and when it is an
important date for that person. We
sometimes put a photograph and
flowers around the tombs with
something important from this
person.

A cemetery is the place where we go after life. There are
graves in cemeteries where rest our family or loved ones. In
the cemetery of my town, there are the people who had lived
in La Canonja. The cemetery of my town is small compared
to our city.
Many people have the cemetery as a place of "worship" and
usually people go on believing the Christian religion.
In my country, people often go to "visit the dead" on Sunday. It is very traditional to go on
all Saints´ Day (Day of the dead, 1st
Nov) and take flowers.
In my country you're buried in a coffin. You can also be incinerated. The day of the death
the family (Christian Believers) organizes worship mass in a church or hermitage or
cathedral remembering the dead person. People bring them flowers on special days for
that person.

the most popular food at the “chiringuito”
are paella and “espetos”. “Espetos” is a
type of fish cooked at the embers.

Bauernhof.
Here in Catalonia the “Bauernhof” is called “Mas”. It
can be in the mountains, in a field or near rivers. It
usually has a rustic style.
Usually people have animals and “bases” which are
like swimming pools but without using chlorine so
the water is a little bit dirty.
People usually live there in the summer and
weekends so they can take care of the animals and
have a good time with family and friends.

People usually have a piece of terrain and in there they grow their own plants, not for
selling in a market. There they have a small house for holidays or to spend the day having
lunch with the family. (1)
Another typical country houses is (in Catalonia) is the ‘masia’ which is bigger and it has
stables with Catalan donkeys, two floors, upstairs the bedrooms, downstairs the living-
room which is very big, the kitchen and two bathrooms. Some of them have a swimming-

In the North zone the typical ones is the ‘caserio’ which is similar but they have cows. They
have wide walls because the winter is very strong. They don’t have swimming-pool and
they are situated in the mountains. (3)
Andalucía has ‘cortijos’. ‘Cortijos’ have patios. In them people have got plants and in the
night the humidity goes up and the cold comes within the rooms upstairs. In Andalucía
summer it’s so hot. (4)

In Spain we have two different kinds of music: pop and rock music and the traditional
music which includes folk music and guitar music.
About pop and rock music, right now there are a lot of good singers and bands but I'd like
to stand out some of them:
- Malú
- Melendi
- Ruth Lorenzo
- Pablo Alborán (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSUEFDZ3p3k).
Apart from that we've some groups in Catalonia and although they aren't very famous,
they make very good music.
