In my opinion & experience*, Singapore is the best foreign travel destination for all Indian parents who plan/aspire to visit a foreign country sometime in their lives.
And here are some reasons why -
Why Singapore is the best foreign travel destination for middle-class Indian parents?
1. Why Singapore is the best foreign travel destination for
middle-class Indian parents?
This post is not a promotion, it is just to spread information.
In my opinion & experience*, Singapore is the best foreign travel destination for all Indian
parents who plan/aspire to visit a foreign country sometime in their lives.
And here are some reasons why -
A stay of 4 to 6 days in Singapore should be good enough to see all important tourist attractions
and the city itself. That should cost you about INR 50,000 - 70,000 per person** (on twin sharing
basis).
2. Clean surroundings, advanced public safety, no cheating, well-connected public transport
network, user-friendly systems, not much traffic jams, high-rise buildings, and a well planned &
built country is something that many of my relatives visiting from India get amazed by. And this
whole experience starts with the very moment you arrive here .. at Changi Airport.
3. Some of the world’s best entertainment parks; animals, birds, fishes & plant parks are here.
- ENTERTAINMENT SPOTS: Universal Studios, Sentosa Islands (incl. Singapore Cable
Car), Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Sands Casino, Merlion, Suntec city
- FAUNA PARKS: Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park, SEA Aquarium, Night Safari, River
Safari
- FLORA & RELATED PARKS: Gardens by the Bay, Cloud Forest, Botanic Garden
- CULTURAL AREAS: Little India, ChinaTown, Arab Street
- Museums (Cultural, Historical, Art, Science & Philatelic museums)
And for all first-timers, each of these attractions etches a first-of-its kind, lifelong memory.
4. Trust me, nothing is more important for Indian parents than a cup of Masala Tea / Filter
Coffee and Indian food (in some cases Vegetarian Jain meals) to ensure that they have a
great holiday.
5. Indian Parents feel good when they see Indians/Indian origin people around - ladies in sarees,
the Indian bazaar type hustle & bustle in Little India, and Kareena Kapoor’s posters on Farrer
Park & Little India train stations.
6. Souvenirs & Gifts - Bugis, Chinatown.
Indian stuff, electronics & gold - Mustafa & near Farrer Park train station
Branded stuff - ION Orchard, VIVO City
Do remember to take the tax refund at airport.
7. Let me know if you need any information. And do share your/your parents’ travel experiences in
comments please.
Wishing you & your parents a travel filled 2017!
