2. Poor Credit History


Employers can look at a candidate's credit history to determine how they
handle important responsibilities like monthly bills, loan payments, and
credit cards. Good spending habits are frequently indicative of a
trustworthy and responsible worker. Meanwhile, bad credit history, such
as a prior bankruptcy or a huge amount of debt, may be a reason to refuse
to hire someone. A candidate's success now may not be hampered by a
bankruptcy or foreclosure six years ago if they've managed their finances
appropriately since then.
Criminal History

Employers examine criminal records as one of the first things they do
when screening applications, and this might result in job applicants
being disqualified during the recruiting process. However, depending on
the recruiting requirements of the company and the gravity of the
offence, some recruiters may still hire an applicant who discloses their
criminal background (with some exceptions). The most important thing
is that the candidate is upfront with you about their criminal history
prior to the background check.
3. False Credentials
That work experience may be one of the reasons why people want the
person to join the team. Companies don’t want to hire someone and then
discover they aren’t actually qualified for the role.A history of doing the
same or similar job at a different company for a certain number of years
is appealing, so if it is discovered that the person was not entirely
truthful on the resume, the company has good reason to deny you
employment.
4. Failed Drug Test


Employees who use illegal drugs can be a major liability. If the results of
a pre-employment testing show that the person has used an illegal
substance, he or she may be excluded from the pool of prospective
employees.Many companies have strict anti-drug policies, and failing a
drug test is one of the most common reasons for failing a background
check. Employees who use drugs on a regular basis endanger themselves
and their coworkers, in addition to potentially breaking the law.
5. Poor References
Employers can consult with previous supervisors or coworkers about an
individual's work ethic, behaviour, experience, and other factors using
reference checks. Candidates will frequently include references they know
and trust on a more personal level, such as friends or mentors. When
interviewing an applicant's references, companies frequently stick to
objective information such as employment dates and responsibilities
within the role. A potential employee's lack of teamwork skills, poor
attitude, or other negative traits causes a background check to be
disproved.
