1. Where I Come From
I come from a once small mining town,
filled with unknown riches from underground.
I come from a house where everyone meets,
I come from a place that is safe.
I come from a house with friendly faces all around,
From a family where every day is eventful,
I come from a town that makes me frown,
I come from a family of coal mines and shipyards.
I come from a town that is now a sitcom
Atown of fake tan and Ugg boots,
I come from a town that has its own ‘mock’-umentary.
I come from a town,
A town of bridges
2. Where no place feels like home
unless my family’s around.
I come from a town where commuters frown,
where sun meets snow.
I come from a town separated by water.
Where metal meets skin,
where black is white,
where streets are red.
I come from a mining town
called Cramlington.
