An excursion is a journey or crossing usually on foot that has scientific, cultural, educational, military, recreational, or tourism purposes. A tourist hiker visits a destination but does not spend the night there. There are three types of excursions: private excursions are contracted for a specific group, regular excursions allow independent passengers to join the same tour, and shuttle excursions have pre-established stops and times that allow passengers to get on and off as desired.
