A split second is an incredibly short period of time, yet our brains process an immense amount of information during that brief moment. Research has found that in just one-tenth of a second, our eyes can take in an entire scene, our brain can recognize objects and faces, and we can make complex decisions. While a split second seems instantaneous, it is enough time for our highly-evolved brains to intake and analyze visual cues that allow for rapid reaction and decision-making.
