Washington has some high mountains in the western part of the state. The climate and rainfall varies depending on location, with Seattle receiving a lot of rain. While Washington only has 150 miles of coastline, it actually has much more coastline due to bays and inlets. Eastern Washington was desert until the Coulee Dam was built in 1930, changing the landscape. Seattle hosts a fair showcasing music and art. The Space Needle is a famous landmark reaching many feet high that was built for the 1962 World's Fair.
