The volunteer was assigned to be the backstage coordinator for her former skating club's ice show. Her responsibilities included overseeing other volunteers to get skaters backstage on time and in the correct order, and coordinating the flow of numbers from backstage to the ice. The two-day event was held at the Aurora Community Centre and featured skaters of all ages performing routines from different decades. As a volunteer-run event, the ice show relied on parents, alumni, and local volunteers to plan and staff the event.
