Sungwon created a visual journal for an art class field study assignment over 5 days. The journal uses drawings and pictures instead of just words to document experiences. Sungwon felt their 4th page was very creative by cutting and pasting a picture of themselves rock climbing. Feedback suggested removing the background for better composition. Sungwon estimates earning a score of 4 out of 6 since paint was not used, which could have improved the backgrounds.
8. Reflection
In this unit in Art class, we were drawing visual Journal for Field studies.
Visual Journal is a type of diary that has lots of drawings or pictures so that
people can see it instead of reading it.
I like doing this because you can be more creative because you are trying to
make it more interesting and different than other pages. And also if I make it
all words it is going to be too long.
I think I did well especially on the 4th page because it was very creative. I
liked the way that I cut picture of myself rock climbing in the place someone
took the picture. I got a comment that it would have been better if I cut off the
background and only my body because the page background was the rock
climbing wall.
If it was out of 6, I think I will get a 4 because I didn’t really put paint. I only
used crayons, pencils and markers. If I used paint for the background color, it
would have been better.
