previously known was a global leader in the production of asbestos-containing products, including

Manville is subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, headed by Warren Buffet. Johns Manville like
Guardian specialise in residential works and was picked by Berkshire Hathaway as it is considered
to be a leading operator within a vital industry, that of residential construction. Johns Manville is a
manufactures premium-quality products for building insulation, mechanical insulation, commercial
roofing, and roof insulation, as well as fibres including glass fibres and nonwovens for commercial,
industrial and residential applications. John Manville while specialising in construction also serves
the aerospace, automotive and transportation industries where they supply air handling, appliance,
HVAC, pipe and equipment, filtration, waterproofing, building, flooring, interiors and wind energy

4.12.2 Owens Corning Outlook & News
Within the company’s building and construction market, the composites division specialise in Glass
fibre and sells Glass fibre directly to a relatively small number of shingle manufacturers, including
its own controlled construction business. Within the Reinforcements division, Owens Corning
manufactures, fabricates and sells Glass fibre reinforced materials. Within the Downstream
division, the company manufactures and sells Glass fibre products in the form of fabrics, mat, veil
and other specialized products. The composites division operates out of 33 manufacturing
facilities. Owens Corning also has shares in subsidiary companies involved in the composites
market: Arabian Fibreglass Insulation Company Ltd, which they have a 49% share in, Fiberteq LLC
and Neptco LLC, which they have a 50% share in.
Most recently Owens Corning completed the acquisitions of FibreTEK Insulation West, a North
American residential construction company specialising in fibre insulation. Further to this Owens
Corning sold its composites glass reinforcements facility in Brazil to Chongquing Polycomp
International Company, one of China’s leading Glass fibre producers.

Zoltek recently defended a takeover attempt by Quinpario Partners. This defence clearly shows
that Zoltek prices it’s self highly and has a clear view of where what they want to achieve and how.
It is also a possibility that other operators are noticing that Zoltek has excess capacity that is not
being used.

the US. The company’s manufacturing facilities are located in Virginia and South Carolina with
their corporate Headquarters and R&D facilities located in North Carolina. BGF has developed
over 35 patents for its specialized finishes and processes. Porcher Industries maintains a
commercial presence in over 100 countries and manufacturing facilities in France, the United
Kingdom, the USA, China, and Brazil. Satellite sales offices are located in Italy, Germany, United
