2. Laitteet tarvitsevat toimiakseen energiaa. Monet
laitteet toimivat sähköenergialla, sillä
sähköenergiaa voidaan siirtää sähkövirran avulla.
Sähkövoimaloissa tuotetaan sähkövirtaa
esimerkiksi tuulivoimasta ja vesivoimasta.
3. Sähkö johdetaan sähköverkkoa pitkin koteihin,
kouluihin ja lähes kaikkialle, missä sitä tarvitaan.
Pistorasiasta saatava sähkö on siis peräisin
sähkövoimalasta.
4. Liittämällä sähkölaitteen pistorasiaan, saat sähkön
kulkemaan. Sähköenergiaa muunnetaan eri
laitteissa tuottamaan esimerkiksi valoa, lämpöä,
ääntä tai liikettä.
5. Kannettavissa tai liikkuvissa laitteissa sähkövirran
lähteinä käytetään paristoja tai akkuja.
Paristoja kutsutaan jännitelähteiksi. Niitä käytetään
erilaisissa sähkölaitteissa tuottamaan
virtaa. Paristoja ei voi ladata uudelleen.

6. Pariston sisällä olevat aineet reagoivat keskenään.
Tämä kemiallinen energia muuntuu sähköenergiaksi.

7. Myös akut ovat jännitelähteitä. Akkujen käytön
etuna on se, että niitä voidaan ladata toisin kuin
paristoja. Akkuihin on merkitty tieto siitä, että sen
voi ladata uudelleen.

Älä kytke mitään kokeiluasi tai
rakenteluasi suoraan pistorasiaan.
Käytä niissä turvallisuuden vuoksi
virtalähteinä paristoja.
