3. The Announcement
● David Cush, Virgin America President and CEO,
said that business travelers have repeatedly
asked the airline to expand to Hawaii. “We look
forward to bringing a new kind of flight service to
the market and to building lasting community ties
with the state of Hawaii,” Cunsh said in a recent
press statement.
● On the day of the announcement, the airline
celebrated the expansion of its market by offering
a complimentary Mai Tai toast to its travelers at
SFO.
4. The Flights
● Virgin America’s Hawaii flights will offer three
classes of service, on-demand food and
cocktail menus for all flights, and touch-
screen personal entertainment systems.
● Fares are already on sale for the two
Hawaiian routes, starting at $199 one way.
