Santpedor is a village in Catalonia, Spain with a population of 7,187 people. Its name evolved from "Sant Pere d'Or" meaning "Saint Peter of Gold". The legend of "El Timbaler del Bruc" formed from events in 1808 during the Spanish War of Independence attributes the identity of the drummer to Isidre Lluça Casanoves, who was born in 1791 and died in 1809.
