Valentyna Sobko worked as a student assistant in mathematics for engineering students at Gjøvik University College from August 2014 to May 2015. She corrected mandatory student submissions for Calculus and Linear Algebra courses electronically. The professor noted that she did the job very well and took initiative to improve exam questions and corrections beyond what was required. She also provided feedback to students in Norwegian despite it not being her native language. The professor was impressed with her work and would have re-hired her if she had not completed her studies.

Valentyna Sobko has been working as student assistant in mathematics for engineering students at Gjøvik
University College from august 2014 to may 2015.
Her tasks were to correct mandatory deliveries, delivered electronically, in Mathematics 1 (Calculus) and
Mathematics 2 (Linear algebra and applications).
She did the job very well, definitely among the very best student assistants I have had.
In addition to do the correcting, she contributed very much, from her own initiative, to improve the questions
and correcting mistakes and inaccuracies in the solutions.
She had very good order in the reports, and also helped to improve the general feedback to the students.
The questions as well as the students answers were in Norwegian, but she managed this very well. She even
wrote in Norwegian on the comments to the students. This was not at all expected, and she is the only foreign
student assistant I have had who has done this.
I would very much have re-engaged her, but as she has finished her studies here this is not possible.
