(José Padilla Sánchez)
Valencia', compuesta en 1925 por José Padilla Sánchez, más conocido como
el maestro Padilla, es uno de los pasodobles más internacionales que existen,
no hay duda. Es, además, una de las piezas más repetidas durante las Fallas,
puesto que tradicionalmente sus acordes suenan cuando prácticamente todas
y cada una de las comisiones falleras de la ciudad pisan la plaza de la Virgen
durante la Ofrenda.
El pasodoble es una adaptación de un número musical de la zarzuela de
Padilla 'La bien amada'. Se estrenó en 1925 en el Teatro Olympia de París e,
inmediatamente, se convirtió en un gran éxito, tanto que numerosos artistas
internacionales pronto comenzaron a cantarla en diferentes idiomas y estilos.
De hecho, un año después de su creación, Carlos Gardel cantaba 'Valencia'
con su personal e inimitable estilo, aunque con otra letra diferente a la actual.

Valencia (José Padilla Sánchez) Valencia', compuesta en 1925 por José Padilla Sánchez, más conocido como el maestro Padilla, es uno de los pasodobles más internacionales que existen, no hay duda. Es, además, una de las piezas más repetidas durante las Fallas, puesto que tradicionalmente sus acordes suenan cuando prácticamente todas y cada una de las comisiones falleras de la ciudad pisan la plaza de la Virgen durante la Ofrenda. El pasodoble es una adaptación de un número musical de la zarzuela de Padilla 'La bien amada'. Se estrenó en 1925 en el Teatro Olympia de París e, inmediatamente, se convirtió en un gran éxito, tanto que numerosos artistas internacionales pronto comenzaron a cantarla en diferentes idiomas y estilos. De hecho, un año después de su creación, Carlos Gardel cantaba 'Valencia' con su personal e inimitable estilo, aunque con otra letra diferente a la actual.
