Spotlight allows users to search for files and programs on their desktop by clicking the magnifying glass icon and typing what they want to find. A list of matching results will appear that can be opened by double clicking. Spotlight provides a quick and easy way to locate items on the desktop through searching.

2. The Magnifying Glass There is a magnifying glass in the corner of your desktop screen. Click on it.

3. Searching Type in the name of the file or program you are searching for and a list will appear. Then simply double click on the what you want to open.
