Ursuline Academy Hires New Varsity Soccer Coaching Staff
ST. LOUIS (June 14, 2016) — Ursuline Academy has hired Todd Wallace as varsity head coach
and Erika Baptist as assistant varsity coach for its soccer program.
“Looking ahead, I am so excited to have Todd Wallace and Erika Baptist as our new head coach
and assistant. They both bring valuable coaching experience and a passion for the game. Our
program will be in great hands,” said Ursuline Athletic Director Jen Brooks.
Wallace’s experience in coaching includes 10 years of Division II and III experience, including
serving as the men’s head soccer coach at Maryville University. He has also been the head JV
coach at girls high school Visitation Academy and the assistant coach for their varsity team.
Wallace’s other credentials include being a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association
of America and being Head Scout for the National College Scouting Association.
Wallace is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago. He was a collegiate soccer athlete at Loyola,
Rockhurst University and St. Louis Community College-Forest Park.
Erika Baptist will assist Wallace with the varsity team. She most recently served as the head girls
soccer coach at Belleville East High School in the Southwestern Conference. Belleville East went
15-7-0 in the 2016 season. Additionally she is an assistant coach at Lindenwood University-
Belleville for women’s soccer,
Baptist graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau where she was
on the All-Ohio Valley Conference 1st team in 2000, a two-time OVC Player of the Week in
2000, led the OVC in goals per game 0.81, ranked 21st in the nation in points per game and
24th in the nation in goals per game .
"I am very excited about the opportunity to coach along side a strong, well-experienced Head
Coach Wallace. I am excited to learn, grow, and teach the athletes at a prestigious institution
such as Ursuline. I look forward to seeing the program's growth and the impact that I will make
with the passion I have for training and the game itself. I am very thankful and grateful for my
time as a head coach and my athletes at East yet look forward to this next chapter in my
life," says Baptist.
