Long Track
Australia
1980: Garry Chasemore (venue unknown but probably Port Pirie))
1988: Mick Powell (venue unknown but probably Port Pirie)
The 1991 Loaders gives the Oz LT winners from 1980 and the following years are absent 1981 and 1984
through to 1987. I thought this may have been due to a lack of information but in January 1989 the Sp
Star had a piece about IM’s attempt to promote the 1989 Oz LT Championship. In it he is quoted as
saying “The Longtrack Championship has been staged on and off over the years and I felt it was time to
put it on a firm footing”, suggesting in the years above it was not actually staged.

Did Wigg win in 1992 and 1994 or was it perhaps the two GH’s of 1986?

The W German Junior Championship results we have are not quite what they seem. All were reported
under the title “West German Junior Championship/OMK Junior Trophy” not indicating exactly what
form of racing they were. I assumed it was speedway but they are listed in Loaders as Long Track.
Below is the complete list of winners as given by Loaders:
1971 Fritz Lang; 1972 Joachim Kall: 1973 Georg Hack; 1974 Klaus Skrotzki; 1976 Manfred Knappe; 1977
Gunther Eckenbach; 1979 Stefan Faath; 1983 Gerd Riss; 1984 Mario Trupkovic; 1985 Andreas Rahn;
1986 Johann Kressirer @ Weusell; 1987 Robert Barth @ Arnstorf; 1988 Robert Barth @ Bad Hersfeld;
1989 Uwe Fienhage @ Spenge; 1990 Olaf Bruggemann @ Harsewinkel; 1991 Walter Huber @ Herxheim
The 1975, 1978 and 1979 winners in the table however are speedway and can stand as such.
May be worthwhile to include the W German Junior LT results on the LT page? It wouldn’t be setting too
much of a precedent as only Denmark and East Germany also had Junior LT Championships. I have
included those results under separate attachment.
Silver Steelshoe
1990: Two rounds were scheduled but the meeting at Leipzig was cancelled (reason unknown)
Northern Territory Championship
1967: venue – Bagot Park, Darwin
1968: venue – Bagot Park, Darwin
East Coast National Championship @ Harpursville 1993
Winner was Johnny Lewis.
This doesn’t fit in with the information in the various USA tables but the result appears genuine. It is
noted in the 1994 Speedway Surveys Yearbook and includes a full scorers list.
Ice Racing Championships

1993: venue – Kumla
1957: venue – Stockholm
Finland
1957: venue – Jyvaskyla
