Unsafe Drinking Water

UN Millennium Goal

• One of the UN goals set was to have 98% of
people the access to safe drinking water. Over
the last several years, the percentage has
risen a fair amount. But, at the rate it’s
climbing we will not meet our goal. Further
efforts must be made if we are to accomplish
  this task.

Known Evidence
• In 2010 the UN announced that 89% of the
  world has safe drinking water.
• This rate has continued to grow at about 1%
  per year since then.
• The UN announced in 2010 that it had
reached 89% of the world with their goal.
While this is close and sounds like a good
amount, it still leaves millions without safe
drinking water. In order to meet their goal,
they’re going to need all the help they can get.
It will take endorsements, funding, and a
worldwide effort to accomplish it. We cannot
stop until the entire world has access to safe
  drinking water.
