• Purpose of education is to facilitate the development of clarity on the aspiration and
adequate competence to actualize it.
• Value education is the education which enables to understand ‘what is valuable’ for
human happiness.
• All human beings aspire for a happy, fulfilling life. For a human being, there are two
important questions pertaining to this:
What to do? - Understanding
How to do? - Developing the skills

rights, national integration, community development and environment.

5. To know about various living and non-living organisms and their interaction with

6. SCOPE OF VALUE EDUCATION
• Includes all 4 dimensions of a human being :- Thoughts, Behavior, Work and Realization.
• Includes all 4 levels:-
1. Individual – Role within myself (ensuring happiness in self and health of the body)
2. Family – Role in my family (ensuring feeling of relationship and prosperity)
3. Society – Role with the society (to participate in social systems for ensuring justice,
peace and harmony
4. Nature – Role in nature (mutual fulfilment with rest of nature)
