The typewriter was found in a trash bag and had several broken and bent pieces, including part of the carriage on the left side being bent out of place, the magic margin tab and switch on the left side being missing or immovable, the ribbon spools being badly bent, and a loose piece on the underside of the left side. The condition and damage of the typewriter is documented through several close-up photographs showing the specific problems.

1. When I took the typewriter out of its trash bag, this is exactly what it looked like. You can see a small piece broke off and it is located near the ribbon on the bottom right of the picture.

5. You can see from this picture that the metal pieces on the left of the carriage are bent and out of place. Compare to the pieces on the right which are straight and allow for easy movement of the pieces.
