Tulio capriles mendoza the venezuelan businessman persecuted for drug trafficking
1. Tulio Capriles Mendoza, the Venezuelan
businessman, persecuted for drug
trafficking
Drug trafficking activities have persecuted Tulio Capriles Mendoza for thirty years.
First, because of the death of his sister-in-law, murdered when she was going to reveal the
drug trafficking operations of the Capriles Mendoza brothers.
Next, her link with Walter Alexander Del Nogal Márquez, belonging to the list of sanctioned
drug traffickers of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
Likewise, due to the employment relationship with Tareck El Aissami, Minister of Petroleum
in Venezuela, accused of drug trafficking by the United States.
The true story is beginning to come to light in the media.
2. The relationship between Tulio Capriles Mendoza
and Tareck El Aissami
All the media, including Insurance and Banking, echo the investigation, by Spain, into the
Venezuelan businessman Tulio Capriles Mendoza.
In Madrid, the commercial activities of the Venezuelans have drawn the attention of the
Spanish intelligence authorities, given the connection with the Chavista, Tareck El
Aissami.
In 2019, the politician was included in the most wanted list, for drug trafficking charges, by
the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE).
El Aissami has denied all charges made against him.
Tulio Capriles Mendoza would manage different companies supplying medical equipment,
arousing the interest of Spanish intelligence, investigating the figure of him as El
Aissami's figurehead.
The companies are in charge of exporting medical equipment to Venezuela.
The death of Edward Velasquez Fernandez
In this matter, hypotheses have emerged about a possible link between these businesses
and the kidnapping in Caracas of businessman Edward Velásquez Fernández, who was
found dead in 2020.
Velásquez served as a medical equipment supplier for the Venezuelan Institute of Social
Security (IVSS) through Blandon Corp and MedBioSuplies SL, with offices in Caracas,
Miami, and Madrid.
A person familiar with the matter has said that Velásquez may have at one time represented
intense competition for Tulio Capriles Mendoza in that sector.
The link between Tulio Capriles Mendoza and OFAC
Another of the investigated relationships of Tulio Capriles is with Walter Alexander Del
Nogal Márquez, designated since 2018 by the OFAC of the US Department of the Treasury,
on its list of sanctioned drug traffickers.
The media know that Walter Alexander Del Nogal Márquez has his domicile and business
in Madrid.
Drug trafficking is not the only activity the authorities are tracking Tulio Capriles.
Since his business start, Tulio Capriles has been persecuted for corruption.
3. Both Tulio Capriles Mendoza and Del Nogal would have connections with the circle of
opponents Leopoldo López, Lilian Tintori and Juan Guaidó.
Although, at the same time, they would do business with the Chavista government.
Despite this, they would portray themselves and present themselves as opponents of the
Government of Nicolás Maduro.
The latest information indicates that Tulio Capriles Mendoza would be residing in the
United States, where he continues to maintain ties with the Venezuelan regime.
The Venezuelan businessman would continue managing extensive resources to alter the
will of supposed opponents in exile and put them at the service of Chavismo.
Tulio Capriles Mendoza is currently being investigated for other activities sanctioned by
OFAC.
The history of the Capriles Mendoza family with drug
trafficking
Manases Capriles, brother of Tulio Capriles Mendoza, has also been linked to drug
trafficking and money laundering activities.
Manases Capriles was identified as the author of the murder of his wife, Lorena Márquez
when she threatened to report him to the police for participating in said irregularities related
to drug trafficking.
As reported by El Tiempo in his 1991 article, Tulio Capriles Mendoza was aware of this
alleged murder since the revelation of the activities also affected him.
The suspicions of Lorena Márquez
According to the first versions, Lorena Márquez told her mother, days before her death, that
she had seen shipments of cocaine in the hands of her husband on several occasions.
And, aware of this situation was her brothers-in-law Manuel and Tulio Capriles Mendoza.
His wife had threatened to report him to the authorities for drug trafficking.
Due to requests from his wife, the couple's relationship worsened for Capriles Mendoza to
stop trading and consuming drugs.
Instead, he said that there were millions of dollars involved, according to Lorena Márquez's
stepfather, Andrés Galdo.
Manases Capriles was arrested as the only suspect in the murder of his wife.
4. Judicial control of the Capriles Mendoza family
Lorena Márquez's parents asked the court to transfer the case to Caracas.
According to them and as quoted by El Tiempo, the city of Maracay was the domain of the
corrupt Capriles family, and they had a lot of power over judicial decisions.
Financing of the political campaign, through drug trafficking
The outlet also revealed the corrupt activities of the Capriles brothers.
Both financed the campaign of the governor of the state of Aragua, Carlos Tablante, of the
leftist Movement for Socialism (MAS).
Precisely, Manuel Capriles performed the function of the secretary of the government.
Tulio Capriles Mendoza has been related to drug trafficking and money laundering
figures that have attracted the attention of authorities in different countries.
The FBI is persecuting the Venezuelan businessman.
