1. TrustIT technology addresses the solution to the problem of finding, in an
open distributed system, the most appropriate entity to collaborate.
Understanding an entity as a person, an agent or a web-service.
TrustIT essentially provides a mechanism for assessing trust that may be
applied to any real world application where past commitments are
recorded and observations are made that assess these commitments. In
scenarios such as networked organizations, social networks or online
communities, TrustIT can be used to calculate one’s trust in another with
respect to a future commitment by assessing the others past performance.
The library assumes that entities participating in open systems can
communicate their capacity and willingness for cooperation, but this
information or not always available or is not reliable. These entities
may be intentionally fraudulent, may believe they have the ability to
perform a task but then you see that really do not, there may be
communication problems between them, they can be poorly
connected to the network and be unable to complete the task in
charge.tt Therefore, when choosing an entity with whom to
collaborate, it is necessary to know whether it can perform the role
expected.
TrustIT automatically calculate the expected confidence of such
entities in fulfilling a commitment (tasks) in a given context by the
comparison between the commitments to make in this context with
similar past contexts. It determines the willingness and ability of the
entity for the implementation of the commitment given the same performance in similar past experiences.
The library is accessed through an API that allows you to calculate different measures of trust. It also offers a series of reporting
and analysis that help to understand the participant entities as a whole and facilitate decision-making processes.

2. iKey Retail Performance
CASE STUDY
iKey Retail Performance: TrustIT is being used in an industrial project with Enzyme
Advising Group. The project’s goal is to help existing retail businesses (such as
Volkswagen and NEXE) improve their key performance indicators (KPIs) and
learn the organisation’s best practices. The basic idea is that sales managers
suggest action plans to improve KPIs and TrustIT automatically monitors its
execution and recommends the sales representatives that maximize the KPIs.
iKeyRP allows introducing key performance indicators (KPI) for each
organization (sales volume, quality, market share percentage) and, action plans
to be executed. Based on this data, TrustIT algorithms automatically analyze the
execution of action plans along time and identify how they impact on the KPIs.
It also calculates store similarity and automatically analyses possible strategies
that can contribute lead to a store performance improvement. The evolution of
KPIs, their relation with action plans, as well as the team executing them is
registered. Along the time, the tool builds a best practice repository that allows
the system to offer recommendations to be introduced in the organization
following its strategic objectives.
