Ww/E1.1a Develop knowledge of a context based vocabulary and structural words. Ww/E1.1c Develop strategies to aid spelling. Rw/E1.1a Recognise a limited number of words, signs and symbols. Background This PowerPoint was used for revision of vocabulary and spelling practice. The words had been introduced to the class in a previous session. Students were asked to learn the words and spellings for the next session. Ideas for displaying PowerPoint Presentation must be displayed full screen or type-in boxes will not be active. Screens 2-16 Display full screen (a picture should be displayed). Ask students what the picture is. Practise saying the word in a sentence. Then, working in small groups of 2-3 with an individual whiteboard, can they write the word or sentence? (Each group can choose a scribe but all must contribute). Hold up whiteboard for tutor to check spellings and vocabulary. Alternatively, if a cordless keyboard is available this can be passed round and a volunteer can type spelling in the box (or ask individual students to write the spellings on a piece of paper) then click to reveal correct spelling.
