Objectives The overall objective of the project is to develop a cost-effective integrated construction process that will enable the maximum capability of industrialisation of components for transport infrastructures using polymer based materials: the Trans-IND System
The scientific and technical objectives The Trans-IND system main breakthroughs: I nnovative and cost-effective industrialisation conceptual model for composite transport infrastructures components covering among others: material engineering, design of composite transport infrastructure components, off-site manufacturing facilities and processes, intelligent logistics, on-site assembly and disassembly, procurement (public and private), knowledge management.
The scientific and technical objectives FRP components and plug-in joint elements design based on the industrialisation system (catalogued standardised infrastructure products) off-site industrialisation process based on: manufacturing process supported by ICT tools and robotics, machinery, tooling and facility lay-out. flexible, rapid and reliable on-site assembly methods based on: RFID technologies, adapted ICTs and robotics intelligent positioning systems
The scientific and technical objectives S oftware platform to provide a holistic approach in the management, design, simulation, visualization and knowledge management of the whole process . Recommendations for standardisation of FRP components . Technical knowledge to different stakeholders through training and education . Exploitation plan and business model options for exploiting the Trans-IND system. Demonstration of the flexible industrialisation system through real scale bridge build up .
