Top Five Scorers
       This year there are some goal scorers that are clearly emerging. Around 28 games into
the regular season they are proving themselves. With the number one spot held by Phil Kessel,
number two is Jonathan Toews, number three Claude Giroux, number four Joffrey Lupul, and
number five is Daniel Sedin. These players have earned their spot in the top five and here is
some information on each of these amazing players.

         Leading the league in points at this point of the year is Phil Kessel. When on the ice he

the ice he plays right wing and is also right handed. Phil Kessel was born on Oct. 2, 1987 he is

Chicago Blackhawks in the 1st round as 3rd overall. Jonathan is 1st in goals this year and is 30th
in assists, this bring him in second.

        Coming in third is Claude Giroux. When on the ice Claude wears the number 28. He
weighs in at 172 pounds and is 5 feet 11 inches. Giroux plays right wing and shoots with his
right hand. He was born in 1988 January 12. He was born in Hearst, Ontario. In 2006 Giroux was
drafted 22nd overall in the first round to the Philadelphia Flyers. He is still currently playing with
the Flyers. Giroux is 5th in goals this year and 13th in assist and is tied for second in points.

         Coming in fourth is Joffrey Lupul. When he is wear a maple leaf jersey it is number 19 on

Saskatchewan, Alberta. In the 2002 NHL Entry Draft Joffrey went 7th overall in the 1st round to
the Anaheim Ducks. He is now playing with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He is 8 th in goals, 6th in
assists, and 4th in points.

        Coming in fifth is the one and only Daniel Sedin. On the ice Daniel likes to wear the
number 22. He plays the position left wing and also shoots left. He weighs 187 pounds and his
height is 6 feet 1 inch. He was born on September 26, 1980. He was born in Ornskoldsvik,
Sweden. In 1999 he was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks first round and 2nd overall. He is
42nd in goals this year and 2nd in assists; this makes him 5th in points.
