How to Face the Challenges of Web Archiving? The Experiences of a Small Libra...Liber2012
The document discusses two web archiving projects conducted as a collaboration between the National Library of Ireland and Internet Memory. The projects involved archiving Irish political websites during the 2011 general election and presidential election. The collaboration allowed both organizations to gain experience in web archiving despite lacking technical expertise. It provided a valuable record of online campaign information that no other organization was collecting. The projects demonstrated the benefits of partnerships for conducting rapid web archives of important historical materials.
The document provides an overview of various topics related to computer hardware and software, including:
1) Floating point representation and color depth which are used to store and represent numbers and images in computers.
2) Components of a basic processor structure such as the control unit, ALU, registers, cache and how read/write operations work.
3) Different types of computer networks including client-server, peer-to-peer, and various topologies like bus, star, and mesh.
4) Storage devices like hard disks, solid state drives, memory cards and how utilities and anti-virus software work.
Claire Jimson is an 11-year-old girl who lives in a small log cabin in Virginia with her parents and three sisters. She helps her mother with chores like cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry. 5 reasons why swift is crucial for regional development and rural innovation ...hhambly
SWIFT is a proposed high-speed broadband network for Southwestern Ontario that would provide crucial connectivity for regional development and rural innovation. It would deliver ultra-high speed internet access for communities, businesses, municipalities, and public services. This would allow for access to online services, use of data and apps for modern farming, opportunities for local ISPs, increased competition lowering costs and improving service, and connecting currently unserved rural areas through last mile infrastructure. SWIFT would boost economic opportunities in rural communities through high-speed internet access.
Evotherm extended the paving season and allowed for longer hauls and improved compaction. Projects in Chicago and Nova Scotia were able to pave in cold temperatures due to Evotherm. A project in Modoc National Forest had favorable results after a 2-hour haul. Evotherm also allowed for longer pavement life as seen on a project on I-70 in Colorado, and lower environmental impact as shown by projects in Napa and San Francisco where emissions were reduced.
This paper analyses the concept of wireless power transmission for mobile charging via three major methodologies of radioactive wave; coupled magnetic resonance; and induction resonance both electromagnetic and NFC-enabled. It describes each methods in viewpoints of their contrast, strengths, shortcomings and impact on society. It concludes that a RF-DC method be explored for improvement.
