1. I told myself I would not cry.. My heart is broken. I cannot lie…
As your funeral draws nearer I no longer can fight these tears..
As I look at your face, remembering all the things we shared
growing up.
You were my best friend in the whole world.
I could tell you anything and you never judged me.
We had more fun than two country boys chasing pigs.
Hunted everything with BB guns, even our other cousins!
We played slap the bull, then run like no body’s business!
Up a tree one would go and over the fence the other.
Hide N Seek on bales of hay.
We Hung out in the top of your barn.
Sitting at the edge hanging our feet…
Telling stories and sharing our deepest secrets.
Tried to swim across Lay Lake! That was fun.
When we were small we held hands everywhere we went.
On our way to take you home we would hold hands
and be sadden that we had to go separate ways!
My heart breaks today like back then, but this time I know
When you let go of my hand, our Granny has taken it.
I know I will see you my best friend, my cousin once again.
Until Then Kisses all over your face! I love you Billy!
