Samulnori is a traditional Korean folk music played with four percussion instruments: the buk, jing, k'kwaenggwari, and janggu. It was first performed in 1978 in Seoul and takes from traditional Korean folk music called pungmul, using four main instruments of pungmul. The instruments - buk, jing, k'kwaenggwari, and janggu - each produce unique sounds and rhythms that come together to tell cultural stories and histories through music.
