To whom it may concern:
It is with great pleasure that I recommend Teresa Lane. Our unfortunate situation with the Pennsylvania budget
means that we will be unable to renew her contract, however, she would be both an asset and a resource to any
department, as she has been to ours.
Terry’s primary focus has been on managing a content management system (Taskstream) for information,
paperwork, and competency documents for multiple and varied academic programs. She deftly manages the
coordinators of those programs, the supervisors, and the students to ensure that the workflows are setup
correctly and that everyone is trained effectively on their role. She has also worked to create a video training
library for these individuals, to help them be more autonomous in their tasks.
Terry also develops and modifies online courses for our faculty. She is skilled in Blackboard (CourseWeb) both
with pedagogical organization as well as with the technical functionality. Our public website has also benefited
as Terry used her connections within the programs to install a process for keeping all of their information
current; she also maintains that process annually ensuring that every program coordinator reviews and updates
their information. Her tact and personal relationship skills are invaluable in this effort.
Some of Terry’s most visible work has been on our digital board. She has a gift for graphic design and since
taking responsibility for the board, I have heard numerous compliments on how appealing and effective it is.
The board stands out as a place to both advertise events as well as announce accomplishments, and Terry
strives to get everyone the appropriate amount of space, time, and effort to create a striking digital board.
Outside of work, Terry also keeps herself busy. She is a lifelong learner in both official courses as well as her
own endeavors; a quality that is incredibly valueable both in and out of the office. She has been awarded the
Newman Award and the Luiso-Steele Scholarship; she used the Newman award to travel to Bolivia to write a
book (in three languages) based on their folklore.
I have had the pleasure of being Terry’s manager for almost two years now, and I hope you find an opportunity
for her in your organization where she can demonstrate her talents.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
