When children begin attending school, they
tend to get sick easily because they come
in contact with many new viruses and
bacteria. Here follow a few tips to share
with children in order to keep them well:

3.  —Wash your hands. Ask your child to wash
up before eating and after using the
bathroom, sneezing, or playing outside.
Remind him or her to use soap and scrub
for the length of time it takes to sing a
familiar tune, such as the “Happy Birthday”
song, two times. You should also consider
purchasing hand sanitizer and asking your
child to use it before eating and after using
shared objects, such as computers or pencil
sharpeners.

4.  —Keep your hands away from your eyes
and mouth. Because hands are frequently
covered in germs, your child should
develop the habit of keeping them away
from his or her eyes and mouth to decrease
the likelihood of transmission.
—Don’t share personal items that go in your
mouth. For example, water bottles, juice
boxes, and food should not be shared with
other children.
