- It was Thursday, February 23, 2017 and there were no birthdays to celebrate. Students were reminded to be careful outside and stay away from water due to melting and runoff creating dangerous fast-moving water. - The school welcomed back students from a trip to Mansfield, and announced that a student's Remembrance Day poster had won first place in several competitions and was now being judged provincially. - Students were reminded that pizza was available to purchase and the winners of the daily "Gotcha" prizes were announced.

We will welcome our Gr. 5s & 6s back this afternoon from
Mansfield! All the students and staff seem to be having a
good time with great weather!
A reminder to students to be careful outside on the yard with
the water. Students are also reminded to stay clear of rivers,
streams and ditches. Water melting will create high fast
running water and it will be dangerous.

Congratulations to Emalie in Mrs. Parsons’ class. Remember
way back in November when students created posters for
Remembrance Day? Well, Emalie won first place at the the
Legion contest. Then her poster won first place at the District
competition. Next, it won first place at the Zone competition.
Now, Emalie’s Remembrance Day poster is competing at the
provincial level. She is one of the few young artists whose
posters are being judged for the best in all of Ontario.
Amazing work young lady! You have represented Pine River
so well!!!
