A teacher at Thumbelina Public Kindergarten read the class the story of Thumbelina by Hans Christian Andersen. After listening to the beginning of the story, the students drew illustrations of the start using colored pencils and felt-tips. The next day, the teacher brought in nutshells and the students made small figurines of Thumbelina out of plasticine to resemble her tiny size from the story.
