The three act structure represents the typical plot structure of a screenplay. Act 1 introduces the protagonist and establishes the situation. Act 2 features obstacles that arise as the protagonist attempts to achieve their goal. Act 3 resolves the story as the protagonist overcomes the final obstacles.
