The Continents and Oceans

• The students are in the third grade. There are
10 girls and 10 boys, with a total of 20
students. Six of the students have Attention
Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD).
Main Objective
• The students will describe the seven
continents and five oceans at the end of the
unit plan. Students will use technology and
hands on activities in groups to gain
knowledge about this topic. At the end of this
unit the accuracy will be around 90 percent.
Day by Day Breakdown.
• Day 1: What are continents? What are
oceans?
• Day 2: Early History of the concept of
continents.
• Day 3: What are the names of the seven
continents.
• Day 4: What are the names of the five oceans?
• Day 5: Which continent are you located on?
What ocean is the closest to you?
Use of Technology.
• Students will use the internet to research and
explore. Interactive games from the computer
will be provided for the students to use in
their groups. An art activity will be completed
on the last day of the unit. Students will Study
a map to gain knowledge of the continents
and oceans. There will also be a short movie.
